What it removes

AI images often carry more than pixels. These are the data blocks we find and let you remove.

Content Credentials (C2PA)

The signed provenance record that DALL·E, Google's image tools and Adobe Firefly attach to say an image is AI-generated.

EXIF, XMP and IPTC

Device, software and timestamp data, GPS location, and the “AI-generated” flags Midjourney and others store in XMP and IPTC fields.

Prompts and generation settings

Prompt, seed, model and workflow text that Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI and NovelAI save inside PNG files.

What it can’t remove

Invisible watermarks such as Google’s SynthID are woven into the pixels, not stored as metadata. This tool does not remove them.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your image

Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP. It is read on your device.

  2. 2

    Review what we found

See each piece of metadata in plain English. Tick “Keep” on anything you want to leave in.

  3. 3

    Download the clean copy

Get the image back with the metadata removed and the pixels untouched.

Remove metadata by AI generator

Each tool puts different data in your files. See what ChatGPT, DALL·E, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and Nano Banana embed.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI image metadata?

It is data stored inside an image file, next to the pixels. AI services such as DALL·E and Google's image tools add C2PA Content Credentials, Midjourney adds an IPTC “AI-generated” flag, and tools like Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI can save your prompt, seed and settings as text inside PNG files.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The image is read and cleaned entirely in your browser, and the cleaned file is created on your device. You can check this by turning off your internet connection after the page loads and cleaning an image.

Does it remove invisible watermarks like SynthID?

No. Some AI tools also change the pixels of an image to carry an invisible watermark, such as Google's SynthID. That watermark is part of the picture itself, not metadata, so this tool does not touch it and does not claim to.

Will it change my image quality?

No. The image data is copied byte for byte and only the metadata blocks are dropped, so the pixels are identical to the original. File size usually shrinks slightly.

Which file types are supported?

JPEG, PNG and WebP. Support for more formats may come later.

Why did it find nothing in my image?

Many websites and apps strip or rewrite metadata when you download, screenshot, convert or share an image. If the file has no metadata left, there is nothing to remove. Original files saved straight from a generator are the most likely to contain it.

How many images can I clean for free?

You can clean 5 images per day for free, with no account. Unlimited use and batch cleaning are planned for a paid plan.
